3 Willows by Ann Brashares

Ama, Jo, and Polly have been friends since 3rd grade. Now that they are going into high school they have slowly grown apart. Ama is a smart and bookish, Jo has become popular and Polly is a little awkward. The three of them are doing completely different things during the summer. Polly is going to modeling camp. Ama is going to an outdoor adventure program. Jo is going to the beach with her mom. Even though they think they will never be friends again their three different adventures bring them closer together. This book a a new story of three girls growing up in Bethesda, Maryland. While there are mentions of the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants throughout the book, the book is completely new story. It is a heartwarming story that many middle school girls will relate to on many levels. Fans of the Sisterhood will enjoy coming back to the world of the pants in a whole new light.
